The charitable donation is the most accessible and effective type of deduction for the US taxpayer. Whether the price goes up or down, we've engineered your exposure to the market so that it produces a charitable donation. Note: For US taxpayers, “unused” charitable contributions can roll over into future tax years, increasing take-home income for as long as you have the credit.

Why we're doing this

Simply put: We want to change the nature of fundraising.

$T3MPL3 is an exercise in financial independence from the restrictions of traditional non-profit fundraising. The more transactions occur, the greater the artistic freedom.

Ultimately, our goal is to buy a building that can function as HQ for the next generation of performing arts and critical culture in Brooklyn. The capital raised through this asset will be used to purchase and revitalize a specific building in Brooklyn, now derelict, which for nearly 200 years has played a historic role in the cultural landscape in the area.

Having a physical space makes creating art easier for a variety of reasons. Take, for instance, Project-Q, an experimental venue run by Qubit in 2018. This space, which was located in a decommissioned parking garage in Upper Manhattan, gave artists a venue where they could work (where one of the first major creations was the first opera ever composed about Dogecoin). When the space wasn't being actively being used for this purpose, Qubit was able to rent it out and generate revenue that was ultimately put back into artists' hands. The end result: a virtuous cycle of generating income and developing more creative work.

Having a permanent location allows audiences and artists to form an organic community, which can then grow exponentially. And with the revenue stream from $T3MPL3, production values increase in tandem with our critical and curatorial independence.

A short manifesto

A key aspect of the US economy relates to the fact that charitable donations allow tax-payers to maximize autonomy over their personal finances. Every dollar donated to a non-profit is a dollar diverted from the US Treasury. But, most individual taxpayers don't make enough money to meaningfully alter the flow of capital away from the government, and towards the organizations that have a greater impact in their communities.

$T3MPL3 subverts this paradigm. As money flows into the asset and valuations increase, donations can begin reaching non-profit groups in amounts never before seen. As profit increases, so does the diversion of funds away from the Treasury, and into the hands of people with important, altruistic objectives. Half the capital gains taxes one pays on every other crypto asset goes to discretionary military spending. Why not use the power of the state against itself and improve society from the bottom up?

I work at a non-profit

$T3MPL3 is an entirely new way to fundraise. Imagine a world in which non-profits can quickly raise capital for their projects not by paying for a rolodex of donors, but by developing a worthwhile project that appeals to people around the world. Non-profits no longer have to beg for donations, or subordinate their goals to the largest foundations—which often results in failure. Instead, the most creative ideas are in the hands of those who can shape them best, and who will find the greatest sources of revenue. For now, $T3MPL3 is the proof-of-concept, but we will soon release a platform to launch unique tokens for any non-profit that feels inspired to join us in this mission.
